Last night, my dad wanted to find some elk. Of course I was all for it, so my dad, me, and Emily loaded up into my 4 Runner and headed off! We ventured out to Strawberry in search of elk, and oh man did we find them! We sat out there for over an hour just listening to them bugel back and forth to each other. We saw 9 bulls, and heard many more, it is just so thick in there it is difficult to see them, but we sure heard them! It is so amazing to see so many of these awesome animals in one place! These are just a few picutres of our adventure. (But none of the elk because they were still so far away, we had to use the spotting scope to see them clearly.) It was so pretty up where we were!

I remember the first time I heard elk- It scared the hell out of me as we slept in our tent- i woke my husband in a panic and all he could say was- it's music to the ear- ugh! Lindsey you are such a great gal
I have never heard elk, but I remeber you telling us about hearing them last year. I bet it is such a neat experience! It looked freaking cold, too! Isn't your big hunt coming up?
Hmmmm....reminds me of a time your dad took me elk hunting....my one and only hunting trip ever!....and it was with my uncle steve. What a great guy! We even went on horses and that was so much fun. (I think that I almost made him shoot a doe, I thought it was a buck, but to my surprise, the huge buck walked away from the tree and suddenly became a doe.) Wait,....don't shoot!!!!!!
